Hanukkah Vegan Bean Gordita

This week the crew got busy exploring the world of Hanukkah / Jewish foods! As we dove into this wild article from the Washington Post, we learned that vegan bean Gorditas and cold oil french fries are Jewish foods. The author of the post really struggled after listing latkes and ... baked latkes. They listed latkes twice then went off the rails, perfect for us.

We also learned about Yo La Tengo and their Hanukkah traditions. Every year they play a show on each day of Hanukkah, and not only that, each show is unique and has a different set list. They mix in stand up comedy too and make sure each show is special. They've been doing this since 2001 which means they've done 184 Hanukkah shows!

Then the team capped off the show by playing some live Dreidel. They took to the web and got on a "Dreidel Fun" server where Vicki taught Ben and Kyle what it means to lose. Out the gate Vicki showed no mercy, quickly gaining the lead and continuing to pull ahead until Kyle was the first to be eliminated. The game ended the turn before Ben would be eliminated because it froze, demonstrating the fear Vicki's play struck into the heart of the game itself.
